The aim of the strategy is to ensure residents are involved in their building’s safety and have access to information regarding building safety. In order to make sure every resident is safe and understands what they can do to improve their building’s safety, engagement should occur via multiple different channels. Why is a Resident Engagement Strategy important for your building?
As a legal requirement of the Building Safety Act 2022-Section 91, a Resident Engagement Strategy must be developed for every residential building.
Communication is crucial between block managers and their residents. If there is a fire, who is responsible for the lives of the occupants? Who is responsible for the potentially fatal consequences? A Resident Engagement Strategy is needed to build trust between residents and building managers and therefore underpins occupant’s safety.
